Obama's Car Fails To Sell On E-bay Auction

A Chrysler 300C which was leased to Barack Obama before he became president has failed to sell at an e-bay auction.
The 2005 grey model was put up for a reserve price of $1 million, however there was not a single bid received for the vehicle when the auction was closed last week.
Obama used the car when he was a senator for Illinois and racked up over 19,000 miles in it during his time as a Congressman.
The then-senator only owned the Chrysler for a couple of years before opting to trade his leased vehicle for a Ford Escape Hybrid, a car which allowed Mr Obama to espouse his green credentials.
Normally a bid of $14,000 to $17,000 would be acceptable for a second-hand motor which is in good condition, however the lure of it being the current US President's former car meant that greater interest was expected.
The news of the no-sale for Obama is slightly embarrassing, especially as Iranian President Ahmadinejad managed to sell his vehicle for $2.5 million when auctioned off.
The money that President Ahmadinejad made from selling his Peugeot allegedly went to paying for the building of foundation homes in his native Iran, which may be one of the reasons as to why it sold at such a high price.
Other notorious leaders who have had cars sold that formerly belonged to them include Adolf Hitler, whose Mercedes was sold for $1.5 million, whilst the former car of Pope John Paul II was bought for $690,000.
